According to Reuters, HP is testing Android for use with upcoming netbooks. While the company has not made announcement of any decisions, there is a reason HP is looking at Android. Most netbooks run Windows XP and XP is expensive and resource consuming in comparison to Android. ![]()
HP’s Vice President, Satjiv Chachil is quoted in the Wall Street Journal saying:
“We want to assess the capability Android may have for the computer and communications industries, so we are studying it.”
Obviously this is a vague statement, but a showing that there is, as indicated in my previous post and as we’ll be discussing in the near future, potential for phenomenal Android growth in areas outside of hand held devices.
